PanicREV: So you got your first Supercross race under your belt last weekend at
A1. How did that feel? How did it go?Travis Baker: It felt so awesome it finally happened. I have always wanted to ride in that stadium and feel what it was like, and I did. It's a dream come true. The whole day was really good. I ended up qualifying 12th. I was on the leader board in my practice. My heat race went alright; I just wanted to make sure I made the main. In the heat, I ended up 7th.
In the main I was in about 13 when I went to make a pass; I ended up bending my shifter and went for the section but I hit neutral. I wentover the bars but I'm good. I ended up heading over to the mechanics section and my mechanic fixed it, but I was already a lap down. I just started putting in laps to get experience. Overall it was a good, fun learning experience and I'm ready for next week.
PRev: Was it what you expected?
TB: I had a pretty good idea of what it was going to be like just from asking all the guys on the team and just asking some old pros a lot of questions. I knew what I was getting into; I wanted to know as much as I could going into it.
PRev: How was it riding in front of that many people?
TB: When I was there I didn't even pay attention to the people. I tried to block all the people out cause I didn't want to get really nervous, but looking back it was pretty sick. A lot of people probably saw me crash so that's kinda cool [laughter]!
PRev: Going into Phoenix next week is there anything you are going to try or do different?
TB: I'm just going to go out there and do the best I can. During this week I'm going to work on a few things where I was weak at the race. I'm just going to go out and get a good time in practice to get a good gate pick. I'll try to do better in my heat so I can get a better gate pick for the main.
PRev: How is the new team? Is this the first time you have raced without your pops as your wrench?
TB: The Motoconcepts Yamaha Team is great; everyone is doing a great job. This weekend was my dad's day off. After all these years he was able to finally not workon my bike. With that said, he knew I was in good hands. My mechanic Scotty has been doing a great job, and we get along really well. So pops is pumped on that.

PRev: Is there anything you would like to add?
TB:I just wanna thank all the sponsors out there. Motoconcepts Yamaha, FMF, Oneal, Motorex, Dunlop, Shoei, Alpinestars, Eks Brand Goggles, C4 Mx, Vortex,QTM, Enzo Racing, ODI Grips, and Mechanix Wear.
#1-I want to thank God for everything. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for Him. He's amazing.
PRev: We are all very proud of you Travis. Go get them next week brotha.
TB: Thanks guys!
