Lost and Found is an interview we feature here on the PanicREV website. Each month we will be interviewing both riders and people in the industry that have been off the radar for a while. This month we found Vicki Golden. Vicki has been off the bike with a shoulder injury sinse Loretta Lynn's last year, where she brought home the Women's title! We caught up with Vicki to see what is going on and when she plans to return to action.

PanicREV: So Vicki, we have not seen much from you since you won your title at Loretta Lynn's. Where have you been?
VG: Yeah, my shoulder had been giving me problems all last year. After Loretta's I decided should fix my it and be 100% for 09.

PRev: How has recovery been going?
VG: It has been unexpectedly hard! All my past surgeries I was back riding in no time. This one deffinatley put me to the test. I've just recently started training again. Tyler Kalisiak has been working with me and I feel better every time we train. I'm still not where I'd like to be, but God has been teaching me to be patient. I know it will pay off in good time.

PRev: I know your first race back was a Loretta Lynn's Qualifier at Perris Raceway a few weeks back. How did that go?
VG: It went well! I knew my starts were going to be rusty, but I felt confident. It was a good feeling to win my first race back!

PRev: Why didn't we see you at Lake Whitney?
VG: Well, my doctor said I should wait another month before I start racing and pushing it ... and OHH MAN I'm so glad he said that! Pretty pumped I got to skip the mud fest!

PRev: Are you going to go Pro in 09 and do the WMA Series?
VG: We have been debating that every since I got back on the bike this year. We were hoping that after my LL title in 08 a bike deal would come my way, but no such luck so far. So we decided to race the WMA series as a Pro and hopefully shake up the results! I am fortunate enough to have my uncle (Resner Builders Hardware) provide me with a race bike for this year and a truck to go to the track with. Without him I wouldn't be where I am.

PRev: What other races are on the schedule for 09?
VG: We always try to hit as many as we can afford. I am thinking about doing Vegas as my last race as amatuer ... and of course Lorettas!

PRev: What kinda things are you into away from the track?
VG: I pretty much just hit the gym as often as I can. I am also working on finishing up school. Every Thursday night I go to the Panicrev Bible study!

PRev: Any final thoughts?
VG: I guess I would just have to share a bit about how God has blessed my life. God gave me the gift to ride a dirtbike. For the longest time all I cared about was riding and racing, and for the longest time I kept getting hurt and I couldn't figure out why. A year ago Scott Parkinson told me, "God is trying to tell you something Vicki. I don't know what it is, but I know He has a purpose for everything." I thought about that for a few months and after Mammoth 08 I decided to accept God into my heart. After that I went on and won Loretta's. I know that there is no way that I would have won if God wasn't with me. To sanctify is “to set apart for special use or purpose." If you have a special gift, you have to stop and think, who made that happen?
