The first round of the EnduroCross series took place this weekend in Las Vegas. This was my first experience at an EnduroCross event and the race was jammed pack with racing action!

In the main event Geoff Aaron grabbed the holeshot, but was closely followed by Taddy Blazusiak. The two rider battled going back and forth for numerous laps. Early Taddy was all over Aaron and soon snuck his way into the lead. However, Aaron was on a charge and made an inside more to retake the lead over a difficult rock crossing. Taddy was charging and again soon his way around Aaron. You could tell that Aaron was beginning to tire and though he kept Taddy honest Aaron was unable to mount another real threat.

Behind the battle for the lead was a five way battle between Cory Graffunder, Mike Brown, Justin Soule', Kyle Redmond, and Cody Webb. Kawasaki mounted Kyle Redmond looked solid and lead the pack early. However, on lap three Redmond made a mistake and fell back to six handing third to Cory Graffunder. Cody Webb then began to put pressure on Graffunder for third. Battling their way forward from bad starts were Justin Soule’ and KTM mounted Mike Brown. As Graffunder and Webb battled Soule’ and Brown slowly closed the gap and soon made it a four way battle for third place. Webb was able to make his move into third on lap seven, but soon made a mistake falling all the way back to tenth. Graffunder, Soule’ and Brown battled. As they battled Graffunder held off the two hard charging riders and took third place. However, Mike Brown was able to capitalize on a mistake from Soule’ and take third. When the checkered flag came out it was Taddy Blazusiak taking the win, Geoff Aaron in second, and Cory Graffunder taking third. Mike Brown and Justin Soule’ around out the top five.

PanicREV rider Reid Davis looked impressive. Davis put in some lap times that where right there on the bubble of making a main. However, after a long day of qualifying he simply ran out of gas. Look for Davis at around two and for his results to improve as the series goes on.
