Today the race of the day took place in the 85cc 12-13 main. Early in the moto Honda of Houston rider James Gardiner had the lead. With the moto winding down Justin Hoeft began to eat into Gardiner’s lead, and with two laps to go Hoeft found himself on the rear wheel of Gardiner. On the final lap, Hoeft was able to position himself on the inside and made the pass to take over the lead on top of the famous Mammoth uphill. The pass did not last long as Gardiner re-captured the lead. The two riders went at it the entire final lap. Coming into the final corner, the two riders were side by side; Hoeft railing the outside and Gardiner protecting the inside line. Gardiner was able to hold off the hard charging Hoeft and take the win. Unfortunately, as the two riders finished their lines crossed and they came together in the air over the finish line jump. Gardiner was able to walk off; however, it looked like Hoeft was going to go get checked out.

With the battle raging for the lead it would have been easy to miss the other battle on the track for third and fourth place. Suzuki mounted Josh Mosiman was on the gas. Mosiman first battled with Cole Barbarie for fourth. Barbarie put up a solid fight, but Mosiman had his eyes on the leaders. Once Mosiman moved into fourth he chased down and caught Nick Mercier. The two Suzuki mounted riders battled for a number of laps before Mosiman was finally able to find his way into third. Josh Mosiman put in some solid motos this week on the Mountain; if he continues to progress, he is another rider to keep your eyes on in the 85cc 12-13 class!

Walking away from Mammoth Mountain with 6 bears is Chris Allderdge (day 1 & 2 85cc 14-15 champion, day 1 & 2 Supermini champion and the two day over all champ in both class). Alldredge was pinned all week, won all four of his motos in his age group class and won both days in his Supermini mains. Alldredge was on a different planet this week and should really use this week as a confidence builder going into Loretta Lynn’s.

Today in the 65cc 9-11 class Jake Pinhancos was railing! The kid was pinned and won in a dominating fashion. Tuesday’s winner was Luke Purther. Purther road really good in today’s main as well, finishing second; he was just a little off the pace of Pinhancos. Sean Cantrell and Deegan Vonlossberg battled for third and fourth for most of the moto. Unfortunately, their battle ended when they both went down heading out the Mammoth downhill. Derek Drake was able to capitalize on the mistake and capture third place in today's main.

In the 150 Open class Andrew Silverstein was able to build on the confidence he picked up yesterday and take the win in both motos today. Silverstein looks good and looks like he is back on the road to the top of the class!

Rookie White looked strong today in the 85cc 7-11 main. White ran in third position for most of the race before suffering a fall that pushed him out of the race. Tristan Miller took the win and Mark Worth took second.
