The USGP is back and though the crowd was not anything like the National at Glen Helen it was good to see some fans coming out to see what the rest GP rider can do on US soil. It has been a long time since the last USGP, but we will not have to wait for another as the FIM and Glen Helen came to a 5 year agreement that will bring a GP to the States through 2014. There is even rumor of another US round being added to the Grand Prix schedule.

The rest of the world has some amazing talent to offer and it was very impressive to see all of these guys going at it on the famous Glen Helen battlefield. In the MX2 class no one had any thing for French rider Marvin Musquin (pictured below). He was on the gas and gave the US fans a glimpse of what to expect when he comes to ride full time in the US next year.

Marvin Musquin led every lap of both motos and won the overall in the MX2 class in dominate fashion. In the first moto he had over a 6 second lead on 2nd place. Musquin is the real deal and will be doing battle aboard a KTM here in the states all next year. Be ready for a new Frenchmen to grab some wins in 2011 here in the US.

Zach Osborne (pictured above) was able to finish 2nd overall here on his home turf. Osborne rode solid and was on the gas. He should have put in a better first moto, but was not able to get around slower traffic quick enough. In moto 1 he has to settle for 4th. In moto 2 Osborne was pinned and finsihed the moto with a 2nd. His 4-1 gave Osborne his first podium of the 2010 season. He was the top American in the class.

Steven Frossard (pictured above), another fast Frenchmen, rode the first moto pretty much all by himself in 2nd. He did not get out of the gate well in the second moto and was only able to work his way up to 4th; however, that was good enough to put him on the box with a 3rd overall.

Ken Roczen (pictured above) is a name that many Americans have heard of being that he has come over to do a lot of the amateur races here in the US. The kid is young and he can flat out fly. After falling early in moto 1 he was on the gas, chasing down Frossard in the late stages of the moto; however, he fell a little short and had to settled for 3rd. In the second moto Roczen got caught up in a second turn pile up and was all the way back to 15th he put on an amazing charge and pushed his way all the way to 5th. Roczen finish 4th overall.

Even though he DNF’ed moto 2 Travis Baker (pictured above) finished 13th on the day and was the top USA rider in the MX2 class not doing the GP series. Baker put in a solid first moto. He put on a charge most of the moto and found himself in a 5 rider battle for 3rd by the end of the moto. When the checkered flagg came out Baker had to settle for 6th. The second moto did not start very well as he was in the second turn pile up with Roczen.  He tried to remount and post a charge, but he was feeling sick as he had been fighting the flu all week long. It was just too much and he was not able to finish moto 2.

Max Anstie (pictured above) is not from the USA but has made the US his home for the past few years.  People thought Max would shine at this years USGP but things just did not go his way.  He is hoping that things will start making a turn for him as he heads to Texas this week for the second round of the Nationals.

James Decotis (pictured above) had a nice rookie supercross season and tried his hand at the USGP. He did not get the result he was looking for, but he has his eye on the US Nationals.

Another American making a showing at the USGP was team Motoconcept rider Vince Friese (pictured above).

A few months ago Michael Leib headed to Europe to do the GP Series. Unfortunately, he ran into some bad luck as he broke his wrist.  However, there was no way he was going to sit out this round at Glen Helen, it was not too good of a showing as he had some bike issues. Lieb has all the speed needed to run upfront he just needs a few things to start going his way.

You can always find these two on the track together. They practice together and always find each other on the track while they are racing; brothers Miles and Dakota Tedder.
