REV makes a come back in V2. The original REV column was a weekly feature here on PanicREV.org. We are calling this version2 as I cannot commit to getting it out weekly, but we we are going to bring it back as often as possible! I have to admit it feels good to do a bit of writing even in the middle of a stressful busy time, such as now.

I have to be honest it has been a trying couple of weeks. We have been working hard, really hard, trying to find a new church home for our weekly Bible study, trying to plan for Mammoth, in addition to raise the funding to make the trip happen (through our Give & Get Fundraise, uniting with TREmx.com, and selling a kx250f), and a host of other things that come along with doing ministry. All of which has been moving very slowly with very little progress!

In the midst of all this Friday evening comes: just as the family sits down for dinner my phone begins to ring. I pick up and there is concern on the other end of the line. A number of people had heard that our friend Jeagher LaFountaine had pasted away. Immediately my heart literally felt as though it leapt into my throat. I began to make phone calls to see what had happened and came to find out the worst was true. Our friend Jeagher had passed away. He had gone to sleep early Friday morning and never woke up. Jeagher was only 18 years old.

Since learning what had happened to Jeagher, I have gone through an array emotions; anger, confusion, sadness, mad, hurt, and even grateful. No matter what emotion my memory starts with, it almost always ends in laughter and a big smile. I have so many wonderful memories with Jeagher. The kid was always doing something making us all laugh, think, and just have an all around good time. Jeagher was a special kid and I am so very grateful for the memories God has brought to mind over the last couple of days. We are going to miss Jeagher deeply and are praying for the LaFountaine family without ceasing. Please take a moment and check out the video we put together as a tribute to Jeagher.

In times like these there is really only one place to turn, Jesus. I have found myself turning to Hebrews 12:2 often this weekend, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Changing gears, we have also been busy at the racetrack. Last week we were lucky enough to hitch a ride with Dan McGranahan, from Icon1 Agency, to Sacramento for the Hangtown National. It was a solid weekend and it was awesome to be there to support the PanicREV riders in addition to covering the event. In case you missed it, make sure you check out all our coverage! A lot of exciting action took place. Eli Tomac put on a show in his rookie debut; read all about it in our Lites Wrapped article. Chad Reed took the overall in the 450 class and Ben Townley made his return to racing. Moreover, we were one of the only media outlets to cover the WMX action. Finally, there are always a lot of photos and desktops when we cover any event. Make sure you check it out.

This weekend we headed to Glen Helen to cover the return of the USGP. It has been 18 years since the Grand Prix series touched American soil. There was some great racing action in both the MX2 and MX1 classes. To give you a bit of a preview, in the MX1 class Mike Alessi rode pretty solid but was unable to take home the win at his home track. The MX2 class was all Marvin
Musquin, but American rider Zach Osborne did jump on the podium! Make sure to check out the PanicREV website all week as we roll out coverage, photos, and much more from the USGP. Hopefully in the years to come the race will pick up some momentum and the crowds and the entry list of USA riders will grow. For complete results check out www.motocrossmx1.com

Next weekend it is off to Competitive Edge for the Loretta Lynn’s regional qualifier. We are looking forward to getting back out to an Amateur motocross event. Can’t wait and we hope to see you there!

With all that said, please continue to pray for the PanicREV crew as we continue to do our very best to reach out to the motocross community with the love and compassion of Jesus! We can all really use your prayers right now.

On a final note, today is Memorial Day. It shouldn’t just be a day we get off work and get to have BBQ’s. Take a moment and thank God for those that have given their lives to give us the freedom we have. Freedom isn’t free.
