Heat 1:
In the first 450 heat race it was Team Honda's Andrew Short grabbing the holeshot and never looking back. Short looked like he really stepped up his game and was ready to battle and take a podium in the main for the first time this year. Guild to the back tired of Short's bike, in second for most of the race, was series points leader Ryan Dungey. Dungey was pushing Short for the lead when he hit the ground. Dungey was able to remount and take 6th in the heat. Capitalizing on Dungey's fall was Davi Millsaps, who road strong and finshed the heat in second.

Putting in great ride was Jarred Browne out of Nuevo, CA. Browne should have made the main last weekend at Anaheim 2, but gave away the final transfer spot on the final lap of the LCQ. Browne has been working hard and it paid off this week with a 4th place finish in the first 450 heat race.
Here is a rundown on how they qualified:
1) Andrew Short
2) David Millsaps
3) Chris Blose
4) Jarred Browne
5) Ivan Tedesco
6) Ryan Dungey
7) Jesse Casillas
8) Tommy Hahn
9) Cyrille Coulon
Heat 2:
In heat 2 of the 450 class Ryan Villopoto looked like he was back in form for the first time this season! Villopoto ran away with the heat race, taking the win. Placing second was Team Yamaha's Josh Hill, who continues to put in impressive rides.

Here is a rundown on how they qualified:
1) Ryan Villopoto
2)Josh Hill
3) Kevin Windham
4) Michael Byrne
5) Fabien Izoird
6) Nick Wey
7) Justin Brayton
8) Jason Thomas
9)Kyle Partridge
LCQ:
Manuel Rivas and Kyle Chisholm would qualify to the main from the LCQ in that order. Chisholm would charge from way back to capitalize on a fall by Mike Sleeter to take the final spot into the main.
Main:
When the gate dropped for the 450 main it was the Suzuki of Ryan Dungey taking the holeshot. Behind Dungey, Ryan Villopoto and Josh Hill were in an epic battle. The two riders went side by side, block pass for block pass for a number of laps. It was awesome for spectating; however, by the time Villopoto finally secured the 2nd place position Dungey had pulled a 9 second gap. It looked as though it was going to be a Dungey/Villopoto one-two finish when Dungey made a huge mistake and went down hard! Villopoto took the lead and never looked back, taking his first win of the season. Dungey on the other hand, was lucky to be OK from such a gnarly fall. He remounted, but was obviously not on the same pace. He was. however, able to salvage a 5th place finish and keep the series points lead.
For the second week in a row Josh Hill was able to take the 2nd spot on the podium. Hill has really stepped up his game in 2010.

Davi Millsaps has had a disappointing season thus far. Heading into San Fran Millsaps stated, that he had made some major changes to his program and was looking to improve on his previous finishes. Whatever changes Millsaps made paid off as he looked strong in San Fran and walked away with a 3rd place finish.
Honda riders Andrew Short and Kevin Windham both looked super solid in practice and their heat races. It looked as though San Fran might be a launching pad for both of them. However, it wasn't meant to be as both riders seemed a bit off pace in the 450 main. Short had to settle for a all too common 5th place and Windham faded into 11th.
Here is a rundown on how they qualified:
1) Ryan Villopoto
2) Josh Hill
3) David Millsaps
4) Ryan Dungey
