SX Lites Notes

The first two rounds of the West Coast Lites Supercross Series has been all Jake Weimer. In Phoenix it looked like Weimer was going to have to settle for second or third, but with a few laps to go, he really stepped up his game. When Ryan Morais passed Tyler Wharton for the lead, Weimer was right there to also make a move on the young Wharton. Weimer turned things up a notch and made his move around Morais to take the win in Phoenix and extend his points lead!

Ryan Morais without a doubt had a chance to take the win and missed it.

Coming into Phoenix, Trey Canard had his confidence built up. Sadly he had a mishap in his heat race and road hurt the rest of the night. He was noticeably off pace and in pain. Hopefully Canard can heal up and be ready for this weekend at A2.

The other Pro Circuit rider competing in the West Coast Lites class is Josh Hansen. Hansen looks fast and no doubt has the speed to get a win--that is if he is able to keep it on two wheels in the main. So far Hansen has hit the ground a number of times in the first two rounds.

Travis Baker came into Phoenix confident and road really good for his second Supercross race. In Phoenix he went home with a 11th place finish. If you didn't get the chance to read Travis's interview last week, make sure you check it out!
