HEAT 1
Broc Tickle took the first holeshot of the 2010 Supercross Series in heat one of the West Coast SX Lites Class; Tickle was followed by Philip Nicoletti, Trey Canard, and Max Anstie. Canard soon made the move around Nicoletti and set his eyes on Tickle. Canard found himself pulling to the rear wheel of Tickle; however, Canard hit the ground as his front tire washed out in a right hand corner. Canard would have to settle for third in the heat behind Tickle and Anstie. The top nine were taken to the main.
The rest of the field would have to try and make the main in the LCQ. Here is a run down of the top nine from heat one:

MAIN
As the gate dropped in the Lites main it was Jake Weimer rocketing out with the holeshot. Weimer was followed by his Pro Circuit teammate Josh Hansen. As Weimer road smooth out front Hansen soon made a mental mistake and hit the ground, washing out in a corner. Weimer was then followed by Morias in second and Canard in third. Slowly Canard began to make up time on Morias. Canard had a line coming out of the rhythm section where he was tripling into the corner. Finally on lap eight Canard was close enough to Morias that he made the inside pass in the corner after completing the triple. From that point to the checkers it was Weimer, Canard, and Morias.

Behind the top three was Blake Wharton and Wil Hahn. The two riders went at it. Hahn had a number of quick lines, but just couldn’t find away around the Geico Honda mounted Wharton.

Some other thoughts and notes:
Canard should be able to use this race to build some momentum. Getting second will be a confidence boost for him.
Look for him to come out swinging for the fences in Phoenix!

Weimer is no doubt the man to beat, but Canard and Morias should make it a very interesting West Coast Lites Series!

Josh Hansen, he showed that he still has the speed and now he again has the equipment to run up front. The ball is in Hansen’s court. With that bike underneath him there is no reason he shouldn’t be on the box.
