PanicREV: Tell us a bit about yourself: your name & screen name, your age, family (optional), and where you live.
Q: Bob McCue (friends call me "Q"), screen name is Q247. Age: what's that??? Married to my wonderful wife April for 18 years now, two kids: Josh (14) and Erin (11). We live in Hesperia, California.
PREV: What kind of bike or bikes do you ride?
Q: 2005 Suzuki RM-Z450. Bought it used two-and-a-half years ago and it's still going strong!
PREV: I normally ask, "What style of riding do you prefer?" but I know your an MX'er. Have you ever given any thought about trying other styles of outdoor stuff?
Q: Yeah, I love riding tracks for sure, but I started out doing Grand Prix racing. There's a pretty big race that takes place annually here in California called the Adelanto Grand Prix. It was actually my inspiration to start riding and racing. Then I did a few District 37 Big 6 races and a few SRA Grand Prix races. It was during these races that I realized that my favorite part of them was when I was on the motocross section of the course. So I started riding tracks more and eventually got to the point that I now ride only at tracks. Besides the GP's I have ridden in the desert a bit which should come as no surprise since Hesperia is in the middle of the Mojave Desert, but there is nothing quite like riding on a nicely groomed track.
PREV: Right here I'd normally ask "How did you find out PanicRev Ministries?" like I usually do. But if I'm correct, you were also one of the original members like Troy. Is this true?
Q: Well, I am not one of the founders like Troy or Scott, but I have been on the board for quite a while...I'm not even sure how long it has been. I found PanicREV through another motocross forum. I read a post that Scott had made on that forum and I saw www.panicrev.org in his signature, clicked on it, and I've been here ever since.
PREV: Do you have a favorite Bible verse? If so, why that one?
Q: It's funny, but for the longest time I didn't have a favorite verse. It just never occurred to me to have one. Then one Sunday the pastor at my church mentioned that his favorite verse is Romans 8:1 which says, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus". I've since decided that that is a pretty cool concept: As long as I am "in Christ" then God has NO condemnation for me. That's pretty comforting to know when I'm screwing up as I often do, to say the least, hahaha. So, yeah, Romans 8:1 is it.
PREV: Like me, you used to be a rocker in your younger days. I know you still play, so for us guitar players, tell us what you have and what you enjoy playing these days.
Q: I play an Ibanez RG3120 Prestige guitar through a Line 6 Flextone amp. I'm putting together a little studio which, at the moment, consists of a Tascam DP-02CF 8 channel digital recorder and an Alesis HR-16 drum machine. I have a few more pieces of gear to buy before the setup is complete and when it is, I'm going to be recording a CD of original instrumentals. I have most of the music already written, now it's just a matter of getting the gear and finding the time to practice & record. Other than that, I'm into learning and playing all the old classic rock songs that I grew up listening to.
PREV: If I remember correctly, you're also either a teacher or you work in the school system. Do you ever get the opportunity to share your faith with the students?
Q: Actually, my wife is the teacher in the family. I work in the maintenance department. The kids I work around are pretty young so I don't really engage them in conversation much. But I do get to talk regularly with the school's staff with whom I work and I share my faith with them every chance I get.
PREV: Any shout-outs?
Q: Shout outs? Is that something the kids do? LOL. Nah, just thanks and praise to God for His saving grace and for inspiring Scott & Troy to start PanicREV.
