Tommy Weeck

Column By: John Parkinson

Tommy Weeck is a well known amateur rider with a bright future in front of him. Tommy moved down to sunny California from the state were it never stops raining (Washington) a few years back. Tommy has really stepped up his game since move down to So. Cal . He started hanging around the PRev crew about a year ago at the Hot Summer Nights Series at Perris Raceway . He was not sure what PanicRev was all about, but when he found out he was stoked on it and ready to jump on board. Since then Tommy has really stepped up to the plate and has been a big part of PanicRev; supporting them 100%. We caught up with Tommy and asked him a few questions here is what he had to say:

PanicRev: What is going on bud?
TW41: Not a whole lot, just eating some dinner chilling.

PanicRev: Tell us a little about yourself.
TW41: Well, my name is Tommy Weeck, I race 250f and 450f INT (B), I am 16 years of age, and I live in Menifee , California !

PanicRev: What have you been up to since Loretta's?
TW41: H mmm, since Loretta Lynn's I have been trying to heal up, and I have been doing drivers education up here in Washington state!

PanicRev: Washington Sate? What is going on up there?
TW41: Well, our primary residency is still up here in WA, because of my fathers business and what not.

PanicRev: S o where do you like it better, Cali or WA?
TW41: I am a Cali kid All the way!

PanicRev: I know Loretta's did not go too well for you this year but, tell those who do not know what went down out at the Ranch.
TW41: Well, it was just a series of various things gone wrong. But in the last moto that I raced on the first lap I was mid pack, and as I was coming out of a corner a dude on a KX clipped my front end, and it sent me over the bars. The bike smashed into my heel and cracked the end of my calcanius and also stretched out some tendons and muscles!

PanicRev: On a better note; you won your first ever title this year at Mammoth how did that feel?
TW41: It was extremely cool. The bike I borrowed from KTM was just unreal, and everything just clicked, it was great. I have to put my head down and get a bunch more this year.

PanicRev: How did the rest of your 07' season go for you?
TW41: Pretty well, Texas I had horrible starts so that messed with me, but I still did pretty well. Vegas was just flat out awesome! Mammoth was decent, and Ponca also went pretty well. So all an all I had a pretty good season.

PanicRev: Changing gears a little. How did you get involved with PanicRev?
TW41: Well, when I first moved to Cali , I had no idea about it. However, when Ii started getting closer to Jon Hornbeck and Travis Baker, they introduced me to it. I love everything about it. So I try to show my support!

PanicRev: What is your involvement with PanicRev?
TW41: I try to go to Relevant every Thursday, and show my support with stickers or just word of mouth; whatever I can do to support them. I mean you have to help out the people that are helping you!

PanicRev: For those who don't know, what is Relevant?
TW41: It is a weekly Bible study held Thursday nights in Corona.

PanicRev: What does PanicRev mean to you?
TW41: PanicRev means a lot to me. It is something that has helped me through some hard times. It is just awesome to have someone that you know is ALWAYS going to be there to help you out and never tell you that you are a horrible person, but go out of there way to help you through whatever it may be. It is something that everyone needs; I do not care what anyone says, having that support is great and it means a lot to me. I appreciate everything they do for each and every one of us!

PanicRev: A lot of people bash on Christian's and say they have no part in motocross. How do you feel about PanicRev and other Christian organizations being a part of Motocross?
TW41: I think it is the best thing since French bread [laughter]! I mean we are all always "racing" and that sounds bad, but we do not really have the time to get to church on Sundays. With guys like PanicRev they bring church to the track and saying a prayer for the riders and their family, it is just awesome! It helps me out ALOT, I know I always look forward to going to anything you guys do!

PanicRev: Getting back into moto. How do you prepare yourself for a race?
TW41: I like to just chill out, and be with my friends. I try my best not think about anything else, just be thinking of what is happening right then and there. I guess I do not have any "secrete" techniques [laughter].

PanicRev: What is it like to work with guys like RL (Randy Lawrence) and Ryan Villopoto?
TW41: It is the biggest treat that a kid my age could ask for, to see what the three time champ goes through, and to be on a very similar program just makes you feel good. It makes me feel like I am on the right path!

PanicRev: What kind of training do you do?
TW41: Riding, road biking, gym, and mental stuff when needed!

PanicRev: What are your plans for 08'?
TW41: I am going to race the B class and just do everything I can to win everything I can!

PanicRev: What re your goals for 08'?
TW41: I want to finish school and do all the races. I really need to have a TOP performance season!

PanicRev: Will you be attending the Mini O's in Florida ?
TW41: W e are not totally sure yet, it is still being worked out.

PanicRev: When are you coming back home to Cali ?
TW41: If I pass my behind the wheel test tomorrow, I will be on my way home Monday!

PanicRev: How can people learn more about you?
TW41: W ell I have a website www.TommyWeeck.com and anyone can go there anytime and read what I am up too and view some sweet pictures.

PanicRev: Who would you like to thank for your success?
TW41: KTM, MSR, Utopia, Shoei, 2nd moto fitness / Randy Lawrence, Motorex, Gearne, OGIO, Dunlop, FMF, Mada Clothing, Asterisk, Renthal, Regina, Powersport Grafx, Twin Air, Motion Pro, Universal, VP Fuels, David Bailey Foundation / Leatt Brace, Subject Media and Athlete Management Group, Mike Federow - So Cal Motocross Training,Charles Dao - Evolution Fitness.
