"People join churches more because they want warmth than light . Sermons may get them into church the first time, but what keeps them coming are friendships that foster inward awareness and support" - Jack R. Van Ens.
PANICREV RACE NIGHT _____________________________________________________________
We are hoping that our PanicRev Race Night will do just what Jack Van Ens is writing about-foster relationships! Due to unsuccessful attempts to secure a track for our 2nd Annual Ride Day, PanicRev will have a Race Night instead! We are hoping this fundraiser will not only help us to do ministry throughout 2007, but also help us build community. In addition to the racing we will be raffling off prizes, having a 50/50, and hosting a free BBQ-so come ready to race and have a good time! Mark the date on your calendars: April 28th! The PanicRev Race Night will be held at Starwest MX Park in Perris, CA. We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible. There is a lot of addition information, including two PanicRev classes, but rather than type it all out here, please visit: http://www.panicrev.org/race_night/. If you don't race, come on out to show your support for those who do!
If you would like flyers to pass out, please contact Scott Parkinson (scott@panicrev.org or 626-991-1877). Also, we are looking for a few volunteers to help out with such things as selling raffle tickets and 50/50 tickets, serving food, selling PanicRev merchandise, etc. Again, please contact Scott Parkinson if you can help out.
PANICREV BIBLE STUDY - RELEVANT __________________________________________________
If you received last quarter's PanicRev Journal you may remember, a prayer request about us hosting a weekly Bible Study! Well, the Lord has opened this door WIDE! PanicRev is excited to announce Relevant, which will be the name of the weekly study. Relevant will be meeting every Thursday night from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Corona Valley Friends Church in Corona. The first meeting will be April 19th, 2007. This Bible Study is open to all ages-come one, come all! If you would like more information and directions, please visit: http://www.panicrev.org/relevant/.
STICKER CONTEST _________________________________________________________________
Congratulations to our Sticker Contest winners: Michael Rucker, Jacob Ongley and Justin Clark. We had a lot of fun with this and look forward to doing something like this again soon. Watch the Board for more info and make sure you join in the fun!
PANICREV BRAINSTORM! ____________________________________________________________
We are currently working on putting together two different programs with which we could use your help and ideas. We will be setting up a brainstorming committee to throw ideas around on how to help address the following needs: ways to enable and empower individuals and families to minister at the local track in their area; ways to create PanicRev clubs or chapters in other areas/states.
If you would like to be part of these weekly discussions, please contact Scott Parkinson ( scott@panicrev.org or 626-991-1877) for meeting times and dates. We are looking for input from riders, parents/supporters of riders, track owners, and anyone else who may be interested in getting more involved in ministry at the track!
NEW PANICREV MINISTRIES! _________________________________________________________
Over the last few months God has really been moving and giving us further direction and purpose. Birth from this insight we have created a number of new ministries:
Joyful Noise - Joyful Noise was created to pull people together with a common interest in riding motocross. It is designed to encourage fellowship and make a joyful noise {{braapp}} at the track between both believers and non-believers. This isn't a religious gathering, but rather a simple group of people who enjoy a good moto, good friends, and good conversation.
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation" (Psalm 95:1 KJV)

inFOCUS - Our photography ministry is currently under development, but if you would like more information please contact John Parkinson ( john@panicrev.org or 626-252-0389).
We thought it would be fun to end this PanicRev Journal with a little Q&A season with Scott Parkinson, President of PanicRev Ministries.
Q: What are you raising money for through the PanicRev Race Night?
A: Some of the ministries more immediate needs are a generator, PA, and a box van. We are just about ready to purchase the generator and PA system; however, it has taken us a number of years to save enough money. As for the box van, we are not even close to being able to afford that just yet.
Moreover, we have felt for a long time now that the need in this community is large enough that it could easily support a full-time ministry [which would require a staff member(s)]. However, as it stands right now this is impossible financially-and we have a long way to go before reaching this goal.
Additionally, PanicRev does a lot of giving. Whether it is assisting David Bailey, James Marshall or someone else in the community we try our best to be compassionate and meet needs the best we can as they arise.
Finally, the ministry accumulates a number of charges in order for us to exist: we are a non-profit organization and along with that responsibility comes a number of fees, such as attorney consultation, accountant consultation, government fees, etc. Furthermore, we have a number of costs for us to have this website ...
Sorry for the long drawn out response, but really the list really could go on and on, and that list doesn't even really touch on growth and the funding we need to raise to walk in the direction we are being led. Most of what I have already talked about is to just sustain what we are currently doing. If you or anyone would like more information on where moneys go, I guess it would be best to just sit down with you and go over our books-which anyone is welcome to do.
Q: What is the first topic or book that will be covered at Relevant bible study?
A: We really want Relevant to be a place we build community and grow towards the Lord-a place where we can come together to have fun while really getting to know one another and talking about serious issues.
Moreover, our first meeting will be introductions and getting a feel on who is there. Once we get an idea about who is going to be coming, we will be able to set an agenda and choose a direction. The hard part of opening up the study to everyone is we just don't know who is and is not going to be there-so I will be able to better answer this question after the first meeting.
Q: What events can we look forward to in the summer?
A: Man, it seems like the Lord is really setting a foundation for something big. We have a lot of new and exciting ministries that will be taking place this summer. The first is Joyful Noise, which will be a great way for everyone to ride together and have some fun on the race track. We are also looking to have a PanicRev Retreat the first weekend of September at Cal City MX Park, which will be all about family. We are planning on breaking up the time between riding and study. It is a great location because the track is out in the desert so there should be something fun to do for everyone in the family.
May the Lord Richly bless you,
The PanicRev Crew
