PRev: What is your name
tobyone: Frank Toby Chi

PRev: What is your name on the forum?
tobyone: tobyone

PRev: Where are from?
tobyone: Culver City, CA

PRev: When is your birthday?
tobyone: April 15, 1969

PRev: So how long you been riding?
tobyone: I have been riding road bikes for 15 years, dirt for 1 year.

PRev: Awesome, what got you into it?
tobyone: My friend Alex broke his back while road racing a while back. 2 years after his injury he decided to ride again, this time for fun, not competing.  He used to ride MX as part of his training for road racing, and it was a lot of fun for him.  So we picked up a couple of dirt bikes and I was instantly hooked.  His drive to get back in shape after injury and to ride again was very inspiring.

PRev: What do you think about the directions the sport is going? Its seems to be getting a lot more publicity?
tobyone: I am really new to MX ... still just absorbing everything in. I've purchased some DVDs of MX and SX races dating back to the days of Bob Hannah and Jeff Ward.  The tracks looked different back then, but it seems like everyone was having a blast.  I think there is plenty of good stories behind racers in the MX and SX community. In my opinion those stories will lend themselves to good publicity.  Last I heard director Sam Jones (who made a documentary for the band Wilco) planned to do a documentary on James Stewart.

PRev: SoCal is kind of the motocross Mecca, is there another state that maybe u wana go riding at?
tobyone: Yeah, I'd love to visit Montana, I suppose I'd trail ride there, or perhaps ride on a horse instead.

PRev: Whats your favorite track?
tobyone: Cahuilla!!!

PRev: What class do you race?
tobyone: Not racing yet!  However, my 4-year old son and I do finger MX quite a bit.  Instead of building sand castles at the beach, we would build MX tracks and then tear them up!  I did, however, very recently made an announcement to my friend Alex and my wife, Monica, that I'd put myself on a training program to get ready for racing in the beginner's class for '07 season.

PRev: What motivates you to race?
tobyone: I suppose I just want to race against myself.  Each time I ride, I learn more.  And the better physical shape I am, the longer I would last on the track.  The potential for improvement in techniques,
strength and endurance motivates me.

PRev: What would u say is the best word that describes you?
tobyone: Creative.

PRev: What word would u say best describes your riding?
tobyone: Pass.  I mean really, go ahead and pass me.

PRev: What rider inspires you most?
tobyone: Doug Henry

PRev: How did you find PanicRev.org?
tobyone: Troy, a.k.a. Psalm3124, introduced me to PanicRev.

PRev: Do you believe in what PanicRev is doing?
tobyone: "Where Fellowship Meets Dirt" ... absolutely yes!

PRev: Why do you love Jesus?
tobyone: I quote this from C.S. Lewis not as an excuse for my lack of love toward God, but as an encouragement for all of us: "On the whole, God's love for us is a much safer subject to think about than our love for Him. Nobody can always have devout feelings: and even if we could, feelings are not what God principally cares about. Christian Love, either towards God or towards man, is an affair of the will. If we are trying to do His will we are obeying the commandment, 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God.' He will give us feelings of love if He pleases. We cannot create them for ourselves, and we must not demand them as a right. But the great thing to remember is that, though our feelings come and go, His love for us does not. It is not wearied by our sins, or our indifference; and, therefore, it is quite relentless in its determination that we shall be cured of those sins, at whatever cost
to us, at whatever cost to Him."

PRev: Are there any special people or sponsors that you would like to thank or give a shout out too?
tobyone: I thank my wife Monica for her understanding of my need to ride.  Also my pastor Ken Fong at Evergreen Baptist Church, without him I would not have met Troy.  And to my buddy Alex.

PRev: If you had a chance to spent a day with a specific rider who would it be ?
tobyone: I'd be lying if I tell you I didn't think of Sarah Whitmore. But I would settle for Jeff Emig because he seems to have a good sense of humor.

PRev: Last question, I heard you recently aquired a rainbowed umbrella for the track, any truth to that?
tobyone: oh yeah...
