Loretta Lynn's Day 1
By: John Parkinson
07/31/07

Loretta Lynn's, or the Dude Ranch, is full of motocross history--no doubt hollowed grounds!

Thor is in full force here at the Dude !

At Loretta's the racers are applauded for their grades and if they have a 3.0 GPA or better they receive an A+ to sport on their number plates.

KTM's Tommy Weeck.

Wil Hahn started the Motocross A class on the wrong foot as he found himself buried back in the pack; however, he worked his way through to finish up second.

Jason Anderson is looking extremely well; he got off to a fourth place start and worked his way in behind Hayes. Anderson watched Hayes's lines for a few laps and then came in and made the pass for the lead. Anderson checked out shortly after he took the lead and took the win with ease.

Motocross B start.

Les Smith is looking good here in 2007 and has won both his motos thus far. He dominated both the MX lights B and Motocross Mod B classes and is looking to go six for six (moto wins).

Hunter Hewitt was on the gas in both Motocross B classes, but due to a bad gate pick in the stock class he did not finish very well. However, in the mod class he held on the gas to finish up third.

White Bros/Yamaha's Ben Lamay had some bad luck in the MX lights B mod class as he went down while leading and dropped a few positions. He got back up, put his head down and got to work. When it was all said and done he was able to salvage third. He also took fifth in the Motocross mod B class.

Kyle Corman came out of nowhere and showed what he is made of. He led most of the Motocross B mod class until Smith reeled him in and took over. Kyle put in another good ride in the Motocross B stock class where he finished up third.

Vince Friese has picked up where he left off in Texas and put in two strong rides already this week finishing up second in both the MX lights B Mod and Motocross B Stock classes.

Christian Craig held the lead for the first four laps of the supermini class ... then he hit the ground and fell back to fifth where he stayed.

Eli Tomac looked good in the supermini class and took the win.

Ian Trettel was back on the podium at the Ranch after not making the trip the last few years due to injury.

Tyler Wharton came out to the Ranch swinging and took the win in the Motocross A/Prosport class.

Phil Nicoletti held the lead in the Motocross A/Prosport class for a few laps until he ran into bike problems and backed way off the pace; he finished up seventh in the moto.

Matthew Bisceglia was really on the gas in the 85cc 7-11 class. He took the win, but got a lot of pressure from Adam Cianciarulo.

Copper Webb found himself in 30th place off the start, he put his head down, charged hard, and pushed his way into fourth.

Adam Cianciarulo had the speed to run with Bisceglia, but went down and let him get away. After going down he restarted is bike and finished up second.

It was a great race in the MX lights A/Prosport class where Nico Izzi, Austin Stroupe, and Trey Canard all got out front early and battled for the majority of the race. Canard took the lead from Izzi and began to pull out to a lead but he punched a rut and went down. He ended up finish in the third spot.

After Canard went down Austin Stroupe and Nico Izzi were battling for the top spot. Stroupe grabbed a hand full around the outside of a corner which set him up for the next corner where he bumped Izzi out of the run and took over the lead.

Izzi looked strong and is going to be right in the mix all week long.

Canard and Izzi doing battle.

PJ Larsen is on the gas and is a contender for a title in 2007!
